The Bulwark

Confab With Me

She was an epitome of beauty,
Everyone desired to be in her fold,
But the bulwark she put around her
was tall and guarded.
Impossible to pierce and difficult to behold.

Many tried to go past it but waned
Several tried breaking it
With hammer and nail,
Everyone failed to go past the rails,
Hence ignored facing the surging gale.

Until one day,
When he dared her strife
He climbed the waves
ignored her pseudo rife
And with flames in his eyes
And love in his smile
He slowly scratched the grime
Away from her life.

The walls were still tall as before
But he was within it
Much closer to the shore.

  1. How very lovely, reminded me of a story of a woman entrapped in a high castle. It has classic romanticism to it. Beautiful!
