Confab With Me

I was just a speck of dust
lost in the oblivion,
trifle and insignificant
like some foliage in fall

My wins my losses my joys and my pride,
never met with any rejoice,
never received any smile,
neither a tear was shed,
nor a word was spelled,
for my existence was trivial,
like a picayune noise
in some clamor of voice

And then you came unannounced,
and held me close to your throbbing heart,
you picked my scattered being,
nurtured my mortal soul,
and before I knew
I wasn’t insignificant anymore,
for you gave me some purpose
showed me some hope,
you rekindled the fire
that was dormant for long,
and I stood there beaming
discovering the new me
beyond the definition
of any right or wrong
