The Unforgivable Past

Engraved on my mind
with letters in bold
and in some dark maroon gore
are the betrayals that left me aghast
a long while ago.

More I try to erase the unforgiving memories the inscribe becomes
more vivid
reminiscing the treacheries
from the distant past

The helpless state of a muddled mind

  1. Beautifully written on how difficult it can be to erase the memories of unforgivable people or issues of the past. I have found when the issues are repeated over again it is because I have not been looking at it properly I keep missing import parts of it. I now always ask why again and what have I missed and help me to see and understand more so I can finally close and release this repetitive issue. It is the mind which regurgitates the pain but the soul which reintroduces the memory when we are strong enough to face the reality of it.

  2. Beautiful. And so very true. Thank you for your lovely poetry.

Sometimes it’s a terrible thing when the inscribe becomes more vivid. It’s important to learn and move forward in life helping others. Our trials can become our testimony.

But when the past becomes so vivid it can be very scary indeed. Speaking from someone who suffers from PTSD. I’ve lived a very traumatic life, and would love to put an end to the reminiscing, lol.
