His Resentment

He wondered,
what if he shows her his heart,
bare without any shield
raw and bleeding
for her to feel the nerves
pulsating with her name on it

Will she recoil?
and vanish in an abyss
wearing a veil
and will he fail to see her again like before
and if he somehow meanders the serpentine labyrinth ways,
that she has put in between,
will he be able to crawl his way into her world,
rescuing her sinking heart and his rustic soul

Living in such predicament
he braided his thoughts
while she carried a diminishing hope
in her doe-shaped eyes
