Escape

If I can hold her close to my chest,
squeezing every bit,
till there is not even an iota of space left,
and when the warmth of my soul
ignite her to the core
burning away all the lurking shadows from her life,
no words spoken,
no resentment to explain
the cage, the confinement melting away
and she frees her winded clipped wings
to soar away and fly

  1. Every time you write another amazing poem, I don’t know what to type here. I lack words worth the praise.
