All untoward perturbation,
cloud my thoughts,
Annoying every moment,
and asking me to stop.
Let this be my last drag,
The final long puff,
Let me enjoy this last one,
And I promise this will be my last heard gruff.
I light the cigarette,
And inhale the fumes,
Oh! It feels heavenly,
I have to resume.
Then I look at the pack,
It is still half full,
Tempting me to continue,
And forcing me to slack.
I detest the vapor,
Yet I squirm for its taste,
How can I quit?
I am your slave.
I convince myself,

๐๐ธthank you for your concern. I wrote this for a friend of mine who kept lapsing on the promises she made. I hope this will give some inspiration for others to quit. Personally I detest smoking.

Oh god…grrr I don’t like the word dear. Anyway!!! Why I said cos it’s a grave topic. But the way you carved each word and how an addict feels like a victim. Tremondous. Hail๐

Haha. No worries. I appreciate your kindness and pardon me for misunderstanding ๐. Actually I read somewhere about how a people hate when they are addressed as dear when the other person is not known, like an air hostesses or a bartender calling dear to their guest ๐

My Dad was a chainsmoker too.But the irony is I never hated him for that.(I cough a lot due to secondary smoking,it gives that suffocative feeling ).Now when I smell a smoke somewhere I feel good coz it gives me the feeling of his presence ๐คฆโโ๏ธ.His addiction becomes my saviour

Nicely said! My mother used to, I tried all through my childhood to get her to quit. She finally did some years ago, prayer changes things! ๐๐ฝ
