Her Lies

She said she won’t survive
a day without that glimpse of my smile
Like how I laugh
between the creases of my lips
widening the depth on my visage

And she will not be able to think of a night
when I am not curled up to her
winding her like a softball
in the crook of my arms

She said she cannot enjoy
the blithe of the moonlit skies
when in the nightly breeze
make her unruly locks casually
tease her existence from my sight

She said all these
and many more beautiful verses
but I think she said it too soon
or maybe in some exhilarating trice
For the smile,
the night,
the moonlit skies,
all exist like before
but she is not here by my side

  1. So emotional and so drawing my friend, you really can evoke the feeling out of your readers, every line down to the crescendo was touching. Wonderful🌹🌹

  2. Nope hubby’s work. The only thing making me happy today is out of 46 million WordPress users when I search for poetry published , my post shows up in first and third location..so happy
