The Overthinking Mind

I have seen
too often
too many regrets
in people eyes

Sometimes for carrying
ostensible grudges

And in a few occasion
for not expressing their love
to the one that meant the most

Often driven by stigma
or societal norms
driving their life to oblivion
for something that didn’t matter
neither a cent nor a pence

And despite understanding the reasons
they still sulk
thinking it‘s too late
arrested by the shackles
of this thing called an overthinking mind

  1. No doubt, we care too much about what others may thing. Much of the time, they’re not thinking of it at all.
