Hey, dear fellow bloggers. How you all doing!
Last week I was in India for work. I was in Delhi for the initial days and spent the latter part of the week in Chennai. As per the original plan I was supposed to fly back to the US on Saturday from Delhi. My brother leaves in Delhi and we decided to meet on Friday. It was a hectic week and I was glad to see him. While chatting we decided to fly to Assam to give our Ma a surprise visit. It was an impromptu plan, and in that spur of the moment, I changed my return flight to the US to Monday while my brother worked towards getting our Assam tickets.
If I haven’t told before, I am a native from Assam. My hometown is a small place called Jorhat. Just a few weeks back Jetairways started a direct flight from Delhi to Jorhat, which helped towards making our plan real. Ma was pleasantly surprised to see us. The smile on her face and all the delicious cooking she did will stay with me for a long time. We were in Jorhat for less than 24 hours, but it was worth a visit.
We reached Delhi late in the night on Sunday. Next day morning my brother insisted me to go for a run. I am not an outdoor runner. I run🏃 at the gym, but running outside is something I am not too keen on. My brother kept pushing me till I reluctantly said yes. And I am glad I did. We went to Nehru Park. If you know Delhi it is Chanakyapuri. A beautiful part, which has a 3KM (1.86 Miles) clay track. I took a look in 18 Minutes. I liked it so much I did another outdoor run after coming back to the US.
From there we went to the GYM. On our way, we stopped by a roadside coconut seller🥥. The fresh coconut juice was refreshing. We spent about an hour at the Gym. I took the help of a trainer to learn some new chest exercises.
Mid-morning, I headed to the office to finish some work and then to the airport to catch my 14-hour flight to the US.
Invariably every time I visit India, I treasure some new memories.

Lovely details here that are so evocative.
Thanks so much for reading
Hope to see it one day. It changes u, they say. For good.
You should stop the indoor treadmill running as it leads to knee damage and rather start getting out on a serious note. I used to put up right next to Chanakya Puri a few months back and Nehru Park loops were a must for me at least 4 times a week. Not to mention the serene and calm surroundings due to being a diplomatic zone.
Paying a surprise visit to your Ma was the best hing you did before leaving. You can’t imagine how securely she’ll keep the memories of those 24 hours with her throughout to be cherished everyday 🙂 .
Keep on with the running. I do a lot of thinking and writing In my mind when I’m out running or walking briskly. Must be the rhythm of the footsteps that gets my creative thoughts going. Julie

Wow!! I live in Chanakyapuri and used to go to Nehru Park when I was a kid. It’s such a good feeling to hear something about a place which gives you nostalgia from others.
