Love Versions

Whenever I thought you are out of reach
never to become a reality,
and when I moved along with your memories
treasured deep in my heart
faraway into some oblivion

She decides to appear,
wearing her love drenched twinkling eyes,
and let me know what I mean to her life,
she will describe her love as deeper than I can ever imagine,
may not be the same way as I do
but it sure has its own shades of hue,
she will acknowledge
how temperamental, unpredictable and abstruse she is
and thank me for putting up to her pretentious trite

I may have thought ways to refute it in the past,
on my mind,
I might have played to refuse
her enticing demeanor many a time,
but when she appears with those heartening words
all my agitation, perturbation
dissolves in a whiff
and I cave in dissolving in her starlit talks,
and weave love drenched proses
describing my quivering thoughts,
I desire to share my deepest of feelings with her,
my desirous longing to embrace her,
I long to passionately kiss her lapel drenched lips
and yearn to keep her close so she can never leave

And as I will be on cloud nine thinking all of this
she retracts into some opaque
without any forewarning
and I remain alone and aloof
wondering which way should I proceed, should I wait for her to reappear
or should I collect my shattered being
and disappear in the darkness
thinking it was a plausible myth

I know deep within she also wants a share of my love,
but often she gets drown into some abyss of fear,

This time if you come
please think with a rational mind
for I don’t want much
just a tiny share of your world
but that little place
I will call it ours
shielding it and keeping it away
from any ostensible reach

And if you ever read this
promise me this
understand love is love
there exist no my version
or your version in this

      1. I don’t know how you took it but I literally teared up while reading this. I don’t know how you felt when you wrote this but I really did feel this.

        1. You are a very good soul. Emotions are always deep my friend. Some to show, some to hide and some to simply express through write. The fact that you read my poem so beautifully had touched me in many ways. Thanks so much. ❤️❤️

  1. This is so beautiful. As you have said there is never various versions of love,it always exists in the simplest and purest form for people to decipher. It is us who makes it complicated by applying different rules to it.

  2. Ahhh, This seems to be a little overpowering doesn’t it? Too close to home?? Something you can’t say no too? “Twinkling Eyes”?? Ha! The eyes always get you! Love the quote – “Eye contact – How souls catch fire”. Bravo, Shantanu!!!
