Maybe for Good

Maybe it was for a reason
beyond any comprehension,
maybe it was for a cause
withering heart bellowing to pause

Maybe it was a skittish thought
losing wings before the flight
maybe an end to a beginning
a thought never meant to survive
for when you left
you took away peace,
and with you
happiness the soul clung to
had vanished,
and the long assumed serenity
had suddenly regressed

And all that was left behind
was a yearning heart
weaving some proses,
knitting few verses,
and nurturing an illicit pain

All such artistry
I couldn’t have drawn
with you being present next to me
maybe your departure
was all for a good cause
