My daughter Nitara, turned nine today. This poem is dedicated to her. Hope you love reading it as much I did writing it.
I still remember the day
when you entered our life
with your curious doe-shaped eyes
and a toothless pixie smile
I fondly cherish the moment
when you spoke your first word
and much to your mom’s envy
it was papa you said first
I have blissfully treasured the memories
of your maiden walk
and stored deep in my heart
all your playful gibberish talk
The teardrops when you were hurt,
your favorite yellow polka dot skirt,
our father-daughter dance,
and your blithely prance
you may not know
but from time to time
I give such memories a blissful glance
As I sit today
and look back in time
to pluck a story or two for your bedtime
I am amazed
how the days went by so fast
how the calendar rolled quickly
leaving behind reminiscence
to cherish for a lifetime
Now as you turn nine today
we wish you live charming life every day, mom and dad want to let you know
you are the most beautiful gift
life has ever bestowed
you are a loving, caring and a beautiful girl
wishing you a gorgeous birthday
