Exhort

The success didn’t come to her in a day,
and you are envious of her smile today
but you fail to see
the forbearance of many sleepless nights the falls,
the stumbles,
the failures,
the disappointments,
you ignore to see them behind that glory
and assume success come to her in a whiff
and with such precarious assumption
you rest on your heels
giving a pass to exhort
and wait for success to arrive
on a golden chariot
and blame the universe for being unfair
and God for injustice

  1. Wow… I am shouting, this is beautiful written, as each line builds.
Like an Orchestra playing in concert during the Grand Finale.
So Powerful, So Strong and Expressive…
    Exhort…Do Not Tear Down
    Build Up…

  2. This is so nice. Actually we just wait for things to arrive on a platter. And then we know exactly who to blame when they don’t happen.

  3. This is lovely and beautiful… A normal mindset of many beautifully depicted with your powerful words in this poem.. Liked it 🙏🤗

  4. So much powerful truth here. Nothing that is worth it, comes easily.

  5. You have described the jealousy innate in human behavior beautifully. While we judge people for their success and wish the best for ourselves.
