Desire

Like the gladiator,
but in captivity of her soul,
Caged but not tamed,
Held but not owned,
She walked the path defined by her,
Not an object to be possessed,
Or a future to be told,
But a desire to long for a lifetime

Hope beyond Adversity

Dancing wild in some boisterous thunderstorm,
Disheveled and scattered,
Draped in darkness,
Lost in the canvas of wilderness,
The raindrops fighting hard to sustain the squall.

And when the gale abates,
The fortitude prevails despite broken scape,
Those millions of helpless drops come together to form a gushing stream,
Flowing with vigor,
Defeating the ostensible destruction.

Osprey’s Maiden Flight

A young osprey taking its maiden flight,
Training to fly above the ocean before winter arrives,
The grit in her eyes is a beauty to engage,
The tender feathers fluttering with rage.

She falters many times,
Often she falls,
Despite all odds,
she didn’t lose hope.

For no storm can besiege her,
no adversity can impede her flight.
