Her Adversities

The adversities she faced
ripped her faith
drowning her in a ravine
with no respite.

And she,
trapped in her failures
capitulated,
letting fate take control
until that moment

When her heart,
despite her mind’s acquiesce,
leaped forth,
leaving behind her past
to a new world
displaying radiance and brilliance
and reconfirming
that hope indeed is a beautiful thing.

Veritable

She wore her emotions
like a sheet of grass on a barren land,
her tears a veritable first shower
under scorching summer sun
and the petrichor rising slowly
spreading the fragrance
of her distant yore,
yet remain refreshed
in the petals of her eyelids
and the thoughts of her soul

The Memoir

Ckonfab

She lived her life in blithe,
charming and cheerful,
displaying her superior self,
never impeding from her will succeed,
for she didn’t want to regret,
the day when she will
sit down and look back
to write her memoir

Behind the Ostensible Shield

Ckonfab

She lived her life in style,
every day a memory,
every occasion a moment of pride

She was a dream to aspire,
a hope of making the dead alive,
A desire to weave
a reason to nurture believe

That’s how she appeared to the world, beauty, perfection, astute, impeccable were the superlatives
she was known for

But people failed to see,
how she achieved
what the world now envied

For her grit to succeed,
the abrasion and the bleed,
the emotional turmoil,
and the times
when she broke down and coil,
all the harsh realities were never seen by those eyes,
as they thought she never had to try,
for she was born to touch the skies

Say Anything…

Ckonfab

Traveling on a weekend is what I detest the most. It feels like someone stole your weekend away. I had a 9:00 AM Monday meeting in Chicago and I had no option but to take yesterday evening flight. To cheer my desolate self, I thought of watching a movie.

The name of the move was “Say Anything..” It was a nice, 1980s setup feel-good romantic movie. I thought of writing this blog not to provide a movie review but to express my views on something that caught my attention while watching the film. It is now glued to my brain and I thought why not I share it with you all.

In the movie, the girl protagonist parents were divorced. In one of the scenes, she hesitantly explains to her boyfriend how she was asked to choose between her father and mother in the court. And after a…
