Her Magical Touch

Ckonfab

The heart’s suffering,
burning down to shades of gray,
like some cold vapor thin ashes
of some residual charcoal in disgrace,
blackened and fast disappearing
to a state of oblivion,
the universe reducing to absurdity,
the hopes bleak,
faith disarmed,
surrendered to the atrocities of this thing called life

And then she came
like a gentle breeze,
love survived under the gentle warmth of her innocent smile,
everything appeared attainable
no mountain was hard to climb,
no peaks were impossible to soar,
no ocean was deep enough not to be explored,
and with hope in the fold of her twinkling eyes,
the soul remained in blithe,
and the world a beautiful place to thrive
he survived

Assiduous – A Poem

The innocuous smile
that beams on your countenance
when your eyes behold
the sense of my presence

Maybe you’re blinded
by some distant fragrance of my love

And the elation of a five-year-old curiosity
that you display in your eyes
makes me swirl in your soul
over and over again
and as I pirouette to glory
you hold me with your assiduous touch
tell me now how will I now survive?

Her Promise in My Heart

And she appeared
gently diffusing the morning mist
layer by layer
like a dream rising from starlit dust
and the morning breeze
kissed her tresses in a wavy trail
and her smiling countenance
embracing the flair of dawn’s smile
then I saw a dream morphing to reality,
for her eyes held a million promises
and I floated to blithe
holding her promises in my heart

In response to Manic Sylph beautiful prompt Her Eyes Hold a million promises

To Papa With Love

This is for my dear papa. He left us too soon and we dearly miss him. He was a rockstar, did so much for the family without any complaints. Today whatever I am is because of him.

I miss his smile, his carefree guffaws, and everything that he used to do. Writing this ode to him, I had tears in my eyes. May his soul Rest In Peace

Happy Father’s Day to all you beautiful dads

The clouds were rough that day,
bellowing storm cracking thunderstorms
the world was smeared with dark shades of gray,
not a soul was at sight,
sensing the gale
everyone vanished to take shelter
ready to embrace the gale

I remembered how we were caught unguarded,
me my little brother and my dad
on a Bajaj 150
scooting beyond the speed
the two-wheeler could manage
and the downpour came,
the deluge was thick and relentless
and then I saw dad
hurriedly putting the bike on the stand
he draped the lone raincoat on us
and then covered his body over us
to protect us from the beating
on that lonely October night

Then I recalled the day
I had to leave home,
going far away to shape up my future
around the same time,
you left home too
serving for the forces
call of duty
mom and my brothers couldn’t leave
and you had now the burden to feed three homes

I came to know after a long time
how you had taken up cooking on your own
to save money
to make the ends meet,
but never complained once
or told us once
and always carried your impetus smile

You left us too soon
not that I could repay your debt ever
but you never gave us a chance
to take care of you,
to show you how your sacrifices had finally taken shape,
display our love
hold you tight,
maybe the last embrace

I know you are resting in peace
in heaven’s abode
blessing us
and sending us loads of love
every moment every day

Happy Father’s Day

So, I got up in the morning to watch the much awaited India Pakistan match and I see the following waiting for my surprise.

A framed Family collage with me in every pic – A thoughtful gift from my son and a tray made by my daughter to keep my keys and essentials which I often lose. The best part was the message at the bottom of the tray. Now I am confuse should I use the tray or keep it upside down to read her beautiful message whenever I accost the gift.

Love you Shaurya and Nitara and thanks to the mom who orchestrated this,  without giving anything away till the last moment.

Happy father’s day to all dads.

Dad

A Beautiful Poem – written by my son on Father’s Day

Denken

It was Fathers Day, and I wanted to get my dad the best gift. The time was ticking by and I wasn’t sure what I wanted to get. All my ideas were mingled, so it was getting even harder for me. After many days, an idea crossed my mind. I was a few days late, but it was worth it. This idea was to write a poem for him.

The category for this poem is freestyle. In freestyle, there are no rules to follow. One can write whatever they desire.  Please scroll down to read

Dad

Nothing seems fun to me
There is not a single hobby I enjoy
Maybe write a story?
I don’t want to try

I never feel like attempting a sport
Sometimes I take a step forward,
But it looks too hard for me

But because of you, dad, I do take that step

I try…
