Happy Father’s Day

We still hold hands like before,
interlocking fingers
dissipating warmth to each other,
and comforting pains

In the days of yore
it was my way of displaying love

And now we still hold hands
for the same reasons,
but this time around
it is more to affirm
the beliefs we bestowed over years
to reassure,
that you are my flesh and blood,
and it doesn’t matter
where you shall be tomorrow
that gentle touch of hands
will still accord firm
from your heart to mine,
for you are my daughter, my son,
a family to where we belong
