I shared two of my advice in the last award, here are two more. This is based on my learnings and hopefully will help some new bloggers

  • Please check your work a few times to make sure the content makes sense both logically and grammatically. Your content has the potential to reach 19 Million WordPress users, make sure every sentence is polished, every word counts.
  • Reblog some of your old posts. It is a great way to bring your old musings back to life.

The Blogger Recognition Award

Hello Dear Bloggers

Soundarya Sriram was kind enough to nominate me for The Blogger Recognition award!  Soundarya has an amazing blog. Her writing is beautiful and intriguing. If you haven’t checked her blog you can do so by clicking here. You won’t regret it

This August 11th I will complete one year in the blogosphere. It is nothing but a phenomenal journey so far. I have learned a lot from my fellow bloggers, made some great friends and shared mutual interests.  I started my blog as an initiative to get some followers who will like my kind of writing. My sole objective was to garner some audience for my yet to be launched Book. However, in the process, my blog has become my passion, and everything else became secondary. I am in the 4th and the last edit of my book and hopefully, with the grace of God, I will publish it soon. You can read about my book by clicking on the link below

The Last Scintilla

I am loving my new home and I know I am going to stay here for long.

My two advice to new bloggers

  • Write from you your heart, write for yourself and write for the liberation of your thoughts. Never write thinking about the end audience. WordPress community is large and for sure you will find your clan who will like your kind of writing. So, don’t fret, be patient, open your heart, clear your mind, and enjoy your journey
  • Always be kind to others. If you don’t like a post, best is to ignore. Don’t leave your harsh comment on a fellow blogger’s post. You may not know but for some their blog is all they have.

For the Blogger Recognition Award, I nominate the following amazing bloggers:

Shaurya Baruah

Richa

Neha Sharma

Rachna

A Journey Called Life

Dear Kids,

You both are the best gift God has ever given me. I want to first thank God for bringing you into my life. You are well mannered, respectful, sincere and hardworking. Though you have your own idiosyncrasies, but you keep them in check when it matters the most.

Today you both are in the protective shield of your parents, but soon you need to step into the world. You have to make your own decisions and face the atrocities of life. I left home when I was 17 and learned my lessons in a hard way, In today’s letter I want to share some of my personal experience, which may help you not only today but most importantly in times when we will be not around

  • When you start something, please ensure you finish it. Even if you feel like quitting.
  • Never waste food. Please remember there are less privileged people in the world who cannot afford two square meal in a day.
  • Never procrastinate. I have seen many great souls failing in life because of procrastination.
  • Be kind always. Even when no one around is not kind, still be kind.
  • Never cheat. Failure is ok, you can always learn and bounce back.
  • Chose a community that is progressive and thoughtful. You become what community you chose to exist in
  • Always respect elders. Remember they have more experience than you in life or otherwise.
  • Never indulge in momentary pleasures that can have a lifelong regret.
  • Never worry from trying new things.
  • Lastly, consider me as your friend. If anything goes wrong (or right), let me be the first person to know, I will ensure to bail you out first, before giving any more life lessons 😊

I wish you both a blissful and a great life

Love,

your dad.

Three things about myself

Since this is my second time with Mystery Award, I will write three new things about me, which you may not have known before:

  • While growing up I changed school 4 times. My dad was in the AirForce and we got transferred almost every three years
  • I have lived in four countries, India,🇮🇳 Singapore,🇸🇬 France 🇫🇷 and the USA 🇺🇸 (my current home)
  • In a year I travel close to 250,000 Miles – that is 63 times around the globe 🌏

Answers to Question for me

  • What is your idea of perfect happiness and/or peace?

In my opinion, there is nothing called perfect happiness or peace, and we mortal soul in search of that perfection for sure lose our peace.✌️ Happiness to me is a state of mind. If we are content with what we have and let not our desires become our necessity we sure can lead a blissful life. Blithe is in small things, and the collection of such small nuggets in life is what my definition of peace.

  • If there is one issue/problem you would like to help within our society, what would it be?

I think education is one area where I will like to help the society. Consider the following points:

  • Every year about 60 million children are deprived of primary school education
  • Additional 31 million drops out of primary school never to see a school again
  • In developing nations, every additional year of school can increase children future income by 10%
  • Educated women will be more aware of pre-teen/teen pregnancy and can reduce  early childbirth fatalities dramatically

Most importantly, if we can find a way to train the top of the bottom of the pyramid we can not only increase employment but can also reduce crime, infuse empathy, and foster a more socially responsible society.

  • In times of trouble or challenges, whom/what gets you up again?

The word is hope. I have written many quotes on hopes. I am picking my best three for your read

If I have to pick one word that fascinates me the most, keeps me going relentlessly and makes me wake up every morning to work towards achieving the unachievable, it is the word HOPE – By Shantanu Baruah

The odds are against me but it still cannot deter my being, for I have hope – By Shantanu Baruah

Today I may be bereft of options but never of hope – By Shantanu Baruah

  • If you had a choice, which animal/flower/tree would you like to be? Why? (fun question)

A lion – 🦁  for its roar 🐯beside😊 I am a Leo😛

What do you look for in other people’s blogs?

A connection to my soul. There is no definition or word – it is a feeling which comes instantly whenever I see one such.

Mystery Blogger Award

I was nominated by Atifa for the Mystery Blogger Award. Atifa is one of my favorites in the WordPress world. She writes from her own life experiences and has a very deviant outlook on life, relationships, and everything she observes. If you have not check her word, please do so, for you will never regret.

“The Mystery Blogger Award is an award for amazing bloggers with ingenious posts. Their blog not only captivates – it inspires and motivates. They are one of the best out there, and they deserve every recognition they get. This award is also for bloggers who find fun and inspiration in blogging, and they do it with so much love and passion
.”

Atifa’s Questions:

1. How much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?

Enough to build a toy, so that he can enjoy,  until it is not destroyed, but another’s woodchuck’s ploy
2. Would you let a homeless person stay a night in your home?

I sure will, but my worry is about the other nights. I will focus more to get him/her out of the misery to the extent I can. Maybe call local counties, look for a foster home, enable governmental aids.
3. When do you feel most lonely?

I love of my solitude. I have been so far fortunate for I have never felt lonely as such. However, when I miss my dad (He is no more), I do sometimes feel lonely.
4. Can you explain one thing that life has taught you thus far, that you are grateful for?

Never procrastinate and always be on time. Engrained in me by my father and I am so grateful he taught me this
5. What can you not seem to let go of?

The occasional binge on anything that tastes sweet.

Three things about me:

  • I love singing and torture my family members by making them listen to my songs😛
  • I am a left-hander
  • I love dirt road biking

Everyone is welcome to participate.
