Such is our love

The thoughts inside me are all jumbled, smeared on my heart are some random words, yet when these eyes accost you all such scattered chaos find symmetry, I guess such is our love

Surviving the test of Time

Showing you don’t care is easy, you throw the person out of all equations and ignore their very existence. But to truly mean you care for someone is an arduous task, for it is more than any spoken words, you nurture hope, you surround with empathy, you defy all perturbations, you essentially embrace a person without reasoning and never get influenced by any externalities to define your love.

And if you see someone who you thought cared for you but because of circumstantial incidents the person drifted away, well my friend then that person never truly cared for you. Ethereal bond survives time, never diminishes its shines and that heart will throb with increase escalation even when you are meeting after eons. My love for you is such, it has and will survive the test of times

Noble Desires

Anyone can pick your shattered pieces,
anyone can love you in transient burst, anyone can hold you for a few moments
anyone can give you comfort for a little while,

But to find someone
who prefer empathy over sympathy,
who enthuse patience over anxiety
and consumes complex thoughts in calamity
who lifts your soul
who doesn’t focus on mending your flaws
who believes in you more than you do
who shows you can shine many hue brighter
than what you think about yourself

Finding someone with such love is sure an arduous task
but if you lend me your hand
I will selflessly love you
and bestow such desires and some more

Surging Force

She held my thoughts at a distance,
away from her throbbing heart,
for her innocuous self
seldom could resist the divine pull.

But she was naive,
for who can tame a surging ocean,
a seismic jolt,
a charismatic smile,
and fragrance in the wild

and the time was not far
when walls would dissolve
the cracks would fill
and love would get its fair chance

Six Mile Mountain Trail

What is the most extreme thing you did recently? Something beyond the routine, out of your comfort zone. After all the running and hullabaloos, we face in our lives, there is no time or drive to execute on aberrant hobbies.

I always have a few things in my TO-DO list, things I have never done before but desire to accomplish. From time to time I relook and make it a point to execute a few.

Three years back I started mountain biking, a new hobby, which I have never experienced before. Although I biked on dirt roads, it was mostly a flat pathway. Two weeks back I biked in one go about 40 miles (64 Kilometers), but it was an esplanade. Though I always wanted to go on a terrain trail but dreaded the thought.

This Saturday, my friend Karan, who is an avid biker, invited me to join for a rugged trail ride. I didn’t think twice before saying yes. Well, my rear brakes were not working, not a good thing while going down slopes, and my bike was not lubricated enough, but the excitement drove me to go with the flow. We were three of us and started our ride at 8:00 in the morning. It was a thrilling ride, uphill, and downhill, steep turn, narrow open bridges, tree roots covered dirt paths, sudden drops, valley, and terrain, and surrounded by stunning views.

I fell twice. Once while trying to climb a ditch after a sudden drop, and the second time while maneuvering a turn I hit a tree head-on (helmet was a savior). I lost a paddle as well. The 6 miles trail took me almost an hour. I reached home with some bruises, but I am ready to go there next week.

Divine Love

In life, we often get drawn towards people, and the allure and the lure make us fall in love, not that we plan it that way but mostly it turns out to be transient, surviving only a few seasons of bloom.

Then when we expect the least, we meet an aberrant soul, someone who is mysteriously different, reticently enticing, enigmatically desirous, and before we know we intricately connect, which never breaks despite testing times. In a momentary trice, to our surprise, the world changes, drawing us into a seance, and a beacon of uncalled attraction looms our mind, our heart, our existence as if the soul has found an anchor to repose its listless soul. And no matter what the universe states or there is void of reciprocation to our longings, we remain in blithe regardless.

The indifferent demeanor, harshness, or sheer no acceptance of love, strangely proves insignificant, for our ardor will triumph all such trifling thoughts. We may not realize, but just to spend a few moments of togetherness, we wait for a lifetime, without remorse, without prejudice, for everything we do is for the happiness of that person, and what we get in return becomes frivolous over time.

And one who experiences such divine love is most fortunate, regardless of what they get out of such an ardent love.

Purpose

In relationships the heart always searches for a purpose, we may not know but it subconsciously looks for an unsaid impetus that makes the bond between two souls thrive. Sometimes the resolute tune to the exact frequency of the partner’s vibe and on some occasions it dances to a rhythm of its own. And such pulses which beat in an asynchronous manner, unleash and free are the ones which makes some old souls the finest amongst the otherwise mundane ones we often see, living in a relationship without much intrepid and zeal.

27th July

This 27th July I turned another year wiser and thanked my stars for everything life had showered upon me. I spent the day reeling string of surprises one at a time. Wife booked a two-hour body treatment, kids made a 10-minute video-graph capturing all the beautiful moments we spent together. The last frame of the video asked me to turn around and a specially designed T-shirt was waiting for me in my son’s hand.

And then my daughter gave me this beautiful card.

We went for a family dinner to French Thai Origin in the beautiful Somerville downtown, what else I want from life.

Our Love

The warmth you prescribe
drapes my soul layer by layer
when you smile
and embrace me with shimmering eyes
from time to time
and the wounds from the past though never going to go
yet remain dormant
for my heart
now is busy humming a song
a trance that we weaved
drenched in love

A Beautiful Gesture

Isn’t life all about treasuring moments to be cherished later in leisure? I experienced a similar feel during my stay at The Leela in Delhi.

Work trip to India is always short, sleep deprive and hectic. I arrived last Sunday and traveling back today.

Yesterday, after a long day at work I returned to the hotel with a sole purpose to get my much needed sleep. My battle with jet-lag was troubling me to a point of annoyance. As I was putting my phone to charge, a paper note caught my attention. And as I read the note, I couldn’t help smiling. All my long-held tiredness disappeared in a whiff.

I am reading the third book of the Amish Shiva Trilogy. The book was lying on the nightstand next to the bed, and right next to it I saw a bookmark, with the image of the front page neatly wrapped around it, and a note from the Butler on duty, Rebecca Williams.

Such a thoughtful deed, and for sure she invariably touched few chords within me. Here is a big shout out to her and to her beautiful gesture.
