An Evening to Remember – Carnegie Hall

The company I work for organizes once a year musical saga right in the heart of the New York City. It is a celebration of life told through the beautiful notes of melodies by some eminent personalities from the musical world.

Yesterday was once such day. The prestigious Carnegie hall was graced by the presence of Grammy nominee Ustad Amjad Ali Khan along with his two sons Ayaan and Amaan. The maestro who made Sarod a household name.

It was an mesmerizing evening and a night to reckon for lifetime. One capture for your eye only

Insuperable – A Flash Fiction

Every night he heard her voice, making him desirous, like an unrequited yearning to be conquered, for her melodious tone breached the tranquility, setting an ensemble spreading her mesmerizing tone.

He had wandered haplessly countless night over the boulder in the woods and stared the old dilapidated fort, the deserted place from where the voice appeared. Like a seance was set and the water gently rippled on that isolated lake.  He had tried many times, but somehow never could muster enough courage to cross the lake to find the person behind the mystic voice.

But tonight was different, the blue moon was vibrant, the night ghoulish and her aria a shade more melodious than before, drawing him to the source, and nothing seemed insuperable, such was her draw.

Her Naked Mind

Her thoughts brimmed from her eyes
and some beautiful thoughts
oozed out without any prejudice,
and in the spark of such blissful moments
an ensemble got arranged,
a song got weaved,
an opera ignited an aria,
for her mind was naked of thoughts

An Evening at Carnegie Hall NY

How many of you had experienced the pain of getting up early on a cold morning knowing you it would be a long day.

I had the same feeling when I got up today. I had to reach a client office by 7:30 AM( a 45 minutes drive from home) for a very important presentation and then in the evening head to NY to attend a concert.

The meeting was exhaustive but went well. I came back home, changed and headed to NY. The company I work for organized an Indian classical Concert in the prestigious Carnegie Hall in the heart of NY. It goes under the brand name HCL Concert and it has been promoting Indian classical music and fine arts for the past 20 years. Till today, all the concerts were done in different cities of India, about 8 concert a year, and today was the first time it was brought on an international platform.

The performing artists were Kavita Krishnamurthy, a renowned vocalist, who has sung over 15,000 songs in her career spanning four decades, and Grammy nominee L Subramanian, the world-famous violinist who had played with names like Stevie Wonder and is known for creating Indian and western classical fusion music.

Soon the ensemble was set and all my perturbations faded away lost in the beautiful Bollywood songs sung by Kavita and Carnatic music played by Dr. L Subramanian. The Carnegie Hall was a treat to eyes. It was an evening so well spent. Sharing some pictures

Thanks for reading

Rescued by Music

And with songs on her lips
and melody on her mind, she set her ensemble.

Ready with her armor
to battle her hardship.

The lone resurrection
she had garnered
after fighting her inner demons
and overcoming numerous fleeting pain
of that long gone love
was finally dawning on her,
for music has now become her rescue
