Lost – A Flash Fiction

The dilapidated house was left ajar, giving an uncalled invitation to any passerby. The aura was spooky and the silence hummed a constant eerie. It was over two days Linda was haphazardly tracking her way to find any human habitation without much success. The house was her only hope. Maybe she would find someone, maybe some clue to break away from the maze she was trapped. With a hesitant mind, she stepped inside, what appeared like a Victorian house from some past yonder. The hallway though draped with layers of cobwebs, appeared grandeur. The rusty balustrade, the wooden long winding staircase, the dusty chandeliers, and the ornate walnut neoclassic settees, pulled her in with ease.

A gentle soft touch on her shoulders shook her to the spine. The ice-cold touch froze her to the ground. It took a herculean effort for her to turn and accost her company. She turned and saw nothing but silence mocking her helplessness with an eldritch bellow.

Illusionist Game

Illusionist game, an archer’s plan, and though her defiant eyes displayed ulterior shades of vice yet he called it divine, for he was caught in the whirlwind of her devious charm, and there was no escape

The Abstruse Bond

She thought we cannot be one,
for the gorge between us
is too narrow,
quite steep
and impossible to tame

But then she forgot
about the stream
running between the couloir
bonding the two extremes
playing a melodious hum

Burgeon – A Flash Fiction

The emotions were bottled inside her from time immemorial and she always did a splendid job shrouding it with her ingenious smile. And it didn’t matter, whether the skies pour, or the horizon remained draped with some pewter spread or the wraith tip-toed in a silhouette night, she never displayed her fear or her pretentious self and remained wrapped in her ostensible allure.

Until that moment when his eyes accosted her guarded soul, and the shield melted, the eyes became vulnerable and her mask dissolved in his velvety talks. All the termors she held for long burgeoned, and she appeared gorgeous in her newfound grace.

Coven – A Poem

The wraiths met in a haunted cove
setting a seance
prudently from the reach of the world
to call the good-hearted specters
visualizing a scry for some noble cause

And the coven though appeared eerie
often change the fate of  the ill fortunate ones
the naive labeled it as a miracle
but the wise knew it was some atman’s call

Scree – A Flash Fiction

The mountains track to the summit was beyond recognition. It was hard to believe the path, which was used by trackers ubiquitously, not too long ago had vanished like a whiff. The last monsoon was longer than expected, and the relentless downpour caused the massive landslide, shrouding the pathway with screes, of some reminiscent ugly past.

Ever since the terrain way caved to nature’s wrath, people had stopped climbing the mountain and the summit remained at peace shining to glory with no trespassing from the human brigade. The tall tale suggests that the Sierra was greener, the hue atop vibrant and the fauna fearlessly thrived, for the humans didn’t venture the peak anymore. Irony remained, while the human cursed that fateful monsoon, nature had its last laugh.

Whimsical – A Flash Fiction

She was a mystery, no one knew where she came from. She hardly spoke and often used her alluring smile to respond. Her gothic looks were not helping either, for everyone wanted to accost her. And her reserved stature only made her more desirable. The men tried everything, cajoling, coaxing, telling tall tales, wearing the best attire, but she didn’t pay any hood and kept locked her mystic demeanor in her well-knitted cocoon.

Years passed on. Few lost interests, few new ones added to her admirer list and some surged back when they saw her gorgeous sight. But nothing changed, she was as mysterious as before.

And then he appeared with his 5’o clock shadow and carefree eyes. His puckish wit and sensuous talks peeled her inhabitation one layer at a time. Then one day she breached her self imposed limit. She looked into his eyes and with a soft harmonious tone enquired his name. But the tables had turned this time, he gently smiled and assumed silence, for now, it was his turn. A vengeance from some past yonder resurfaced at that momentary trice.
