We lost two great actors of the Indian film fraternity. The man who redefine love on mainstream cinema, Rishi Kapoor, and Irrfan Khan, whose acting got recognized not only in India but on the world stage. We have also lost so many people to the COVID pandemic. These words reflect my sentiments. Hope their soul Rest In Peace.

Nosegay – A Flash Fiction

A loner I was, and a peripatetic soul, never rested at one place, in search of something that my heart never conjured. From crowded streets to desolate places, I traversed all without much respite, for an unruly restlessness crowded my mind. And in search of nothingness, I became a vagabond. Then one day as the fragrance of some nosegay wrapped around the waist of a damsel drove me wild. And I followed her along, behind the boulders, across the mountains and in the bed of the ocean,  it was peace at last.

Mendacious

I first was a victim of her mendacious thoughts
often expressed through her silvery talks
and I invariably got fooled by her deceit
and I broke my heart
drowning into the million ravines of nothingness
until one day
when I sealed my heart,
killed my emotions
and all rationale yore
and I took a leap of faith
to rise above all vicious hope
and sail above many draconian thoughts
to the world of realism
and then in the fold of newness
and an unbraided mind
I survived

Why I Write

I write,
for my thoughts to be around,
lingering in people’s mind
long after I am gone,
and my scripts,
lost under the dust
of some forgotten tome,
for someone to discover,
those raw emotions,
vivid in front of their eyes
even when years have passed by

I write,
with the hope that
after my departure from this world
my verses will be cherished,
maybe it will inspire a few,
or it will leave someone
with a thought to ponder or two

I write,
with the hope my words
maybe sometime in the future
will be read by some terrestrial beings
to understand how perplex humans emotions are
and despite all the mayhem around
how the vibrant soul never gives up

I write
for I want imaginations to leap,
liberating the mind
and igniting views from deep within,
I write for awareness,
I write for peace,
I write to instill humility,
I write to give encouragement,
and above all,
I write for love
